General Gustave F. Perna is driven by a deep sense of purpose in advancing missions larger than himself, loyalty to leading organizations and the people within them, and service to others. Defending the Constitution of the United States is in the fabric of his DNA and guided his 38 years of honorable service as an Army Officer.

General Perna has proven strengths in executive leadership, strategy, supply chain, logistics and talent development in global, rapidly paced, forward-thinking organizations. Prior to his service as Chairman of the Board of Blue Yonder Defense Solutions, General Perna co-led Operation Warp Speed (OWS) to accelerate the development, manufacturing, distribution and administration of COVID-19 vaccines and therapeutics for more than 300 million people. In addition, he served as the Commander of the U.S. Army Materiel Command, an organization with 190,000 military, civilian and contractor employees. General Perna also commanded the Joint Munitions Command.

His track record and reliability in decision-making in the highest-stakes environments led to successfully deploying thousands of soldiers during Operation Iraqi Freedom and deploying the 64th Forward Support battalion to support a maneuver brigade. He received numerous awards during his service, including the Bronze Star with Oak Leaf Cluster for leading during the COVID pandemic.

General Perna is a distinguished military graduate from Valley Forge Military College with an associate degree in business administration. He earned a bachelor of science in business management from the University of Maryland and a master of science in logistics management from Florida Institute of Technology.
